Modelling Excellence
NLP Master Practitioner

Uniqueness
Even with the explosion of NLP providers over the last few years, this programme is still unique in the world, because we will show you how modelling is really done!

Our approach is very different, and far more rigorous than other apparently similar programmes, because we provide lots of opportunity to practise the skills of modelling with our guest exemplars. Throughout the process, you will also conduct your own in-depth modelling project using the tools and techniques introduced during the programme, to demonstrate the transferability of our approach.

What is Modelling?
At its best, modelling enables you to elicit what it is that a high performer does in their approach to a task that differentiates them from a more 'normal' performance. True modelling encompasses the characteristics, thinking styles, beliefs, identity and spirituality of the examplar, and it is to this level that we will explore the skills involved.

This will enable you to:
  • Develop your own modelling strategies which encompass the benefits of both high level (identity) modelling and very precise behavioural modelling. Through this process you will find that your ability to utilise NLP modelling on a wider basis will increase markedly.
  • Model the expertise of our guest exemplars, and explore the underlying strategies which underpin who they are and how they do what they do. This means that you will be able to transfer these same qualities and strengths to an individual, team or entire organisation (as well as yourself) in order to raise the level of performance beyond what you may have thought possible.

Basis of the Programme
Because we include a high proportion of the Master Practitioner syllabus in our Practitioner level programme we have sufficient time to devote to in-depth modelling. The programme is led by Ian Ross who learned his craft from the world's leading Modeller, Dr Wyatt Woodsmall, and is one of the very few consultants in Europe who regularly undertakes detailed modelling projects.

Questions to consider when seeking a Modelling Training
Because almost every Master Practitioner programme will talk about including Modelling in their programme, how do you distinguish between potential suppliers?

  • Ask about the content of the Modelling inputs in their Master Practitioner programme. In particular ...

    • How do they teach the elicitation of a Model? In particular, what level of detail do they go to in the elicitation? Be especially cautious where the secret is said to be to take on the 'Identity' of the exemplar.

    • What measures are built in to the process to test the rigour of any eventual output?

    • How do they know that the exemplars' performance, and their model of it, really distinguishes their performance from the typical?

    • How knowledgeable are they about the differences between Modelling I and Modelling II?

    • How do they explain the difference between 'Inside' and 'Outside' Modelling?

  • Ask about the guests that are invited to be Models of Excellence on their programmes - are they just a range of NLP trainers? How varied is their expertise? (See Vievolve's most recent example below).

  • Ask for specific examples of clients for whom they have actually done paid Modelling Projects.

So why is Vievolve's programme so special?
The best way to answer this is to describe the guests who came as exemplars during our recent 2006 Programme. The guests were as follows:

  • Gary Hall: Owner and developer of a number of high quality catering operations and investor in a range of new businesses, Gary is a model for what is possible in both entrepreneurship and customer service.
  • Chris Burke: Ex Chief Information Officer of the world's largest mobile telephone network. Now a venture capitalist and advisor to the Boards of a number of global businesses, Chris is an exemplar of entrepreneurship and criteria-based decision making.
  • Rita Carter: One of the world's finest writers on the brain and nervous system. A winner of several international prizes for science writing, she is an exemplar for taking very complex issues and making them understandable to us all.
  • John McCalla: An extraordinary man who combines a very senior position in one of the world's largest consultancy firms with being Coach to the British Junior kayak team in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. He is also an ex-European martial arts champion and senior examiner. He is a model for supreme fitness, maintenance of internal 'state' and general zest for life.
  • Paula Brennan: One of the most courageous people we have ever been privileged to work with. A model for personal courage, she works with Médecins sans Frontières and is currently leading a humanitarian project in southern Sudan.
  • Andrew Campbell: Internationally recognised artist and systems thinker and an extraordinary networker. An exemplar for challenging thought.
  • Dr David Peat: A leading physicist who worked closely with David Bohm and subsequently wrote his biography. He now leads the Pari Center for New Learning which is becoming a crucible for combining spiritual exploration, synchronicity and global complexity.
  • Ian Ross: Wyatt Woodsmall once described Ian as "the person who knows more about negotiation than anyone else in the NLP community". Although primarily responsible for leading the whole programme, he reluctantly agreed to have his facilitation and coaching skills elicited.
